I was just about to comment on how much this made me think of modern-day riots after sports events.

The Canadian rioters were hoodlums.I would characterise them as over-educated(they are immature and have stopped learning) with no sense of achievement and suffering intense boredom. However I may be wrong, they be fine technocrats and our future leaders.
